How my sourdough journey started…
My Husband and I were searching for a bakery that sells delicious fresh sourdough bread in our neighborhood, so we visited several stores and local bakeries to find a perfect loaf. Despite finding some decent options, they did not meet our expectations in terms of flavor or quality.
Many would claim it was sourdough bread, but it wasn’t genuine. They added fillers like sour salt or vinegar to replicate the taste, along with other leavening agents, excluding sourdough starter from the ingredients. Although they claim it’s authentic sourdough bread and price it accordingly, what you really get is just plain old regular bread with fillers to try to mimic the taste of sourdough.
After a lot of encouragement and motivation from my husband I finally decided to take the leap and start my sourdough journey.
I spent countless hours researching and finally decided to take the plunge and created my own sourdough started from scratch. The process was incredibly rewarding and fascinating. It marked the beginning of my love affair with making delicious sourdough bread.
After much trial & error and misshaped loaves, I honed my craft and created a beautiful sourdough bread that I’m proud of and thrilled to share.
Since then, I’ve prepared loaves of bread every week for my husband and myself, also sharing it with close friends and family.
Thanks to all of those who believed in me and pushed me, now I am ready to bake and share the genuine taste of sourdough bread with others.
A true sourdough bread is made with only 4 ingredients: flour, water, salt and either a culture or starter. The traditional process of making sourdough involved the use of wild yeast that naturally occurs in the environment to leaven the dough overtime while fermenting, resulting in health benefits such as lowered gluten content.
The entire process takes three days, with an extensive refrigerated fermentation and leavening period.

You can also sign up for reminders when on my hotplate website. Original sourdough bread will be available every week with special artisan loafs cycling weekly.
